Environmental pollution control
Montenegrin Parliament passed ambitious Law on Industrial Emissions, as the main legal act to regulate environmentally sound work of different installations and operators. Greenhouse gas emissions generated by industrial activity constitute a significant share of total emissions in the EU, therefore the Law transposed the Industrial Emissions Directive, as the cornerstone of EU policy on industrial activities which regulates the area of emissions from industrial installations. It marks an important step towards a coherent legislative framework for increasingly demanding and complex environmental legislation on emissions to air and water, plus the handling and storage of waste and hazardous substances. The Law will achieve a high level of protection of the environment taken by minimizing emissions into air, water and soil and the generation of waste in order to prevent adverse environmental impacts.
