Regional Ministerial Conference on Sustainable Development


What:  The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, in cooperation with the Centre for Sustainable Development, and with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro, will organise a two-day regional ministerial conference on sustainable development. The aim of the conference will be to initiate regional dialogue about the priorities of sustainable development in South-East Europe, in line with global developments in this field and along with the post-2015 development agenda and EU accession priorities. Those participating at the conference will be ministers and high officials in charge of sustainable development issues in the countries of the region, representatives of the United Nations, European Union and other international organisations, prominent experts, and representatives from NGOs and the private sector. The conference will present the National Human Development Report 2014, ‘Resource efficiency and Sustainable Human Development’ along with ‘Green Infrastructure’, an innovative fair that will be opened by the Minister of Science, Ms. Sanja Vlahović. 

 

When: Friday and Saturday 7th and 8th November 2014, at 0900.
Where:  Hotel Avala, Budva

The Centre for Sustainable Development was established on January 1st 2014 as a programme jointly implemented by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro. The work of the Centre is aimed at supporting the implementation of national policies for sustainable development and the gradual improvement of cooperation with the countries of the region in order to define common priority actions, modalities of cooperation and building associated partnerships.
